Dice Simulator

Dice are thought to be the oldest gambling device invented by man and have been around since before 2000 BC. There are many different types of dice, but the traditional dotted cube is easily the most common with each side having a pattern of dots ranging from 1 to 6. For more information on dice layouts and other interesting facts visit the Dice History page.

Dice are used for many gambling and fun games because they are an easy way to introduce a random element (i.e. luck) to the proceedings. Some of the more popular dice games are detailed on our Dice Games page.

Here is a useful dice simulator for traditional six-sided dice which can be used for playing your own games. Choose the number of dice you want to simulate (1 to 6) and click 'Roll'.
Number of dice:  1 die  2 dice  3 dice  4 dice  5 dice  6 dice
   Roll
    6 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 5 +   = 25
Mankind has always been fascinated by acts of chance, and throwing objects to see how they fall started with common objects such as shells or stones. It wasn't long before people started to bet on the random outcome of these actions. This evolved to the dice we know today where each number has the same chance (theoretically) of coming up.

This dice simulator uses pseudo-random numbers to mimic the rolling of the dice. For more information on random numbers, visit RandomNumberGenerator.com.
